Verbier ski hotels and holiday packages

So tell me about it...

Verbier sits in a sunny, well sheltered spot. The resort is built in traditional style, with impressive views of the surrounding mountains. Verbier is a resort for the fashionable and cosmopolitan. Veysonnaz is the most attractive of the satellite resorts, but they all have a good range of facilities including bars, cafés, restaurants and sport centres etc and are ideal for families who do not need the pulsating nightlife of a Verbier skiing holiday, but are still looking for excellent Verbier skiing. Les Collons is linked with Thyon 2000 and has its own ski and snowboarding school.

Ski school is good in all the resorts and children well provided for. Verbier’s après ski is famous with its nightclubs and some 60 restaurants. Veysonnaz and Les Collons also have their fair share of things to do.

The skiing in Verbier and the 4 Valleys is varied and has runs to suit all standards, however, it is more suitable for intermediates and experts, with numerous challenging runs and excellent off-piste. Over 100 lifts take skiers around the 400km of pistes. Snowboarders will enjoy the terrain park with rails, kickers, gap jumps and more.

Entertainment

Verbier comes to life at night with a selection of various bars, pubs, discos and clubs including the renowned 'Farm Club', this resort definately offers some of the best apres ski in the Swiss Alps.

Gourmet & nightlife

Verbier has an excellent reputation for the quality and range of cuisine available through its 60 or so restaurants. Most renowned is the Montpelier which was Gault Millau listed in 1998. The popular local specialities are fondues and raclettes served in traditional Valaisan establishments such as La Channe Valaisanne, rustic Vieux Valais, Toro Negro grill and many more. For röstis Carrefour offers a legendary list of 7 varieties. French food is also widely served with various styles offered including modern at the bistro. The range of international cuisine is possibly the best in the Alps, high quality American burgers at Harold's and numerous Italian pizza and pasta eateries including the Pergolas. Vegetarians again are better served than in most European ski resorts, the Relais des Neiges being one of many offering a vegetarian menu. Virtually all of the establishments serve the wines of the local Valais canton, including the classic white Fendant.

Extras

Verbier’s adventure trail is open in both winter and summer with a climbing wall in the summer and ice climbing in winter. Heliskiing/boarding and off-piste guiding is popular in the activities of Apres Ski in Verbier and so there are many schools that can provide guides. There are also a number of paragliding schools offering lessons, licence courses and tandem flights. The 10km toboggan run from Savoleyres-Tzoumaz is popular and great fun. At the Verbier sports centre there is a pool, whirlpools, sauna, and steam bath. As well as ice hockey events you can go ice skating yourself or opt for a game of squash or tennis. There are also six artificial curling rinks in Verbier at the multi-sports centre.
